morning-fireGENTLE MEN – mark your calendars. The 2009 Summer Gathering will take place July 10th through 12th at Jack’s Creek Campground on the edge of the Pecos Wilderness. This beautiful camp site will once again be the setting for a peak experience under the open sky, beneath the trees, on the lush grasses. Dust off your camping gear and come have some fun!

The 2009 Summer Gathering Registration Form (as an Adobe Acrobat PDF form you can fill out on your computer) is available now.

As always, GREAT Men will gather together to share their lives and create new memories in a safe, supportive, and mutually respectful environment. Expect fellowship, storytelling around the campfire, music, drumming, talking circles, small group breakouts, and a sweat lodge or two. But don’t worry, it won’t be all busy-ness. There will also be time for meditation, reflection, rest, rejuvenation, and hiking in the gorgeous natural environment of the Pecos Wilderness.

Summer Gathering 2008

Artists of Summer, 2008

The theme is “Balance”. Throughout the weekend, we’ll have a BALANCE of structured activities and free time, serious introspection and playful fun, doing and being.

One of the highlights will be a a group feast Saturday evening with a catered entree and salad / veggie dish plus pot luck contributions from all attendees where we’ll have a chance to join together for the preparation and sharing of the meal.

Just come. You’ll be glad you did.

Kristin & Michael Kauffman and Abi & Charles Fisher mt-fd2008-8would like to invite you to the 2009 NMMW Father and Daughter Gathering, which will take place at Ghost Ranch over the weekend of June 5 thru 7.

Whether you have previously experienced the joy and riches of the Father & Daughter Gathering, or have merely heard participants from previous years extol its many wonders, NOW is the time to register for this very special weekend.

To register for this unique and rewarding weekend, download the positively Magical Brochure and Registration Form and send it in as soon as possible.

As you will see from the brochure, the title of this year’s Gathering is “Through the Looking Glass”, a theme likely to be a jumping off point for an event that is always delightfully organic. We think there is “juice” in exploring with our fathers and daughters, in both family and broader groups, the extent to which, for better or worse, we see ourselves in our father or daughter, as well as our experiences of how time and the differences between our ages has shaped the relationships we have with each other, now and in the past.

mt-fd2008-9

To enrich the experience, the weekend will contain elements old and new, including: talking circles, small group sharing, fishbowl and sociometrics exercises, a mask-making art project, hiking, stories and songs by the bonfire, and a gift exchange. But, as always, the richest element is the privilege of close connection and deep discussion of important things with your father or your daughter supported by a community of fathers and daughters in the beautiful setting of Ghost Ranch.

Please join us. The deadline for registrations is May 9, 2009. has been extended until May 15, 2009.  Time is running short, but don’t let it run out on you.

So pick up a pen, fill in the registration form, write out a check to “NM Men’s Wellness” for the modest amount ($195 per person), and mail it all to:

Michael Kauffman
P.O. Box 508
Ribera, NM 87580
